We are thrilled to announce that our Principal Investigator, Prof. Husam Alshareef, has been elected as a Fellow of the Materials Research Society (MRS). This prestigious honor recognizes his pioneering contributions and steadfast leadership in the field of materials science and engineering.
As the first researcher from an Arab university to receive this esteemed distinction, Prof. Alshareef’s election highlights the global impact of our group's research and underscores the importance of international collaboration in advancing the field.
The MRS Fellowship is a highly selective honor; each year, the number of new Fellows is capped at just 0.2% of the total professional membership. This accolade adds to Prof. Alshareef's recent fellowships in several other prestigious organizations, further showcasing his commitment to pushing the boundaries of materials science.
In addition to leading our research group, Prof. Alshareef serves as the Director of the KAUST Center of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Storage Technologies. He has been instrumental in advancing battery research and development within Saudi Arabia and beyond.
Reflecting on this achievement, Prof. Alshareef shared:
"This is a tremendous honor, and I am deeply grateful to the Materials Research Society for this recognition. I am also incredibly proud to represent KAUST and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in receiving this fellowship. This achievement reflects the world-class research environment at KAUST and the dedication of my research team."
We are incredibly proud of Prof. Alshareef’s achievement and are honored to work under such a visionary leader!
